HELLO MILANO! The Fashion City.
We had breakfast and then we travelled to Milan to have lunch and to visit the museum. After that we went to a church which is the 3rd largest church in the world. We went shopping for an hour then we had dinner and we went to the hotel in Milan to sleep for 2 nights.
In the museum there is a theatre which is really big and fantastic to me. The stage is long and wide and there are a lot of seats for the audience. Some parts were decorated with golden paintings which makes it very beautiful. However, we learnt about something unhappy. There are 'buttons' on each audience chair and if the performances are not interesting or are not up to their standards, the audience can press the button and the curtains of the stage will automatically close by itself. Then, the performers will realise how 'horrible' their performance was and will feel disappointed.
But, I still think that it will be a wonderful privilege if we, dancers, will get a chance to perform there! :D
After the touring in the museum, we went a little shopping trip at the souvenir shops, etc.
We all realised that the things at Milan is really more expensive than the other cities we've been too. A normal pen could be up to 5 - 6 euro, which is about $12! Reason being that Milan is a fashion city and many popular expensive branded shops are opened there too.
See ya!~

Day 7!! :DD
We are at Milan now. The weather here was freezing cold! We went into a castle. The tour guide told us the introduction of it. We took a group photo there and went back into the bus.
Next, we visited a theatre called, Teatro Alla Scala. Its size was about two times larger than the UCC hall. There were many boxes which were for the audience to seat. After that, we went to a huge church. Touring was not allowed inside, so we just walked around.
Then, it’s shopping time! :)
End of Day 7!

MAMAMIA!
Today, we went to the castle after we had breakfast. The castle was very vintage (there was algae everywhere) but i also found it quite cool that leonardo was there for 20 years of his life. I also could'nt believe that leonardo was a beggar. So it made me think that maybe rich people only became rich after being poor and becase of their hardwork, they became rich. After that we went for lunch. Then we went to the museum, i thought some of the paintings were okay while some were really nice. Then after that we went to the theatre. My first thoughts about the theatre was that it was very interesting as the audience each have their own box to view the performace. They buy their own box and that box is only for themselves. Of couse that changes after some time. The sad thing was, the audience are allowed to close the curtains while the performance is on if they do not want to watch it, and they are allowed to do whatever they want inside the box. And what is more, if they happen to be closing the curtains and they suddenly hear something they like from the performance, they could request for the performers to perform again. In my point of view, I think this is a very sad thing as the audiences do not respect the performers.
What can we dancers so that our audiences would not close their curtains on us just like what the audiences in that theatre could do?
I think we should have stage disipline and also be confident and improve on the moves and also on the expression. And most importantly, the start of the performance should already be very eye-catching, if not the music should be captivating enough to catch the audiences attention.
After the theatre, we went for shopping ! (^^) The shopping was very good as there was an hour. Today was honestly a good day. as i enjoyed this whole trip thoroughly :)

ALPHONSINEKOH ^^
HEY HEY HEYY!!
I had a great but cold day today.
In the morning, we ate breakfast and rushed over to Milan immediately. After that, when we arrived in Milan, we ate lunch in a chinese restaurant which is very delicious, in fact.
Then, we met Grace , our tour guide for today.
We went to the La Scala theatre which is super cool.To think that there has always been Operas performing there it is just awesome. There are boxes inside where audience were sitted there and a chandelier which have 365 light bulbs. Then, we went through the museum which has different important people from the past. Next, we went to the center of the Milan which is called the city hall. the city hall is filled with many branded shops and also a super huge gothic style church. The church was called the Duomo, it is the 3rd biggest church in the world. After that, we were given time to shop and next, we had dinner at an Italian restaurant.Lastly,we took a picture with Antonio! ^.^
*What do i think when i enter the La Scala theatre?
i thought that it would be great if we ever perform there and how grand it would be.
It thought these theatre only happened in movies, and it seems so unreal.
*What should we do to not be boring during our dance?
We should dance our best and smile through out the dance to connect with the audience and make them inspired by our passion for dance.
hehe, love,
Kartini
Hey, Day 07...wow, time flies!!
Today is kinda our last day, so sad :( We're at Milan now, we visited an old castle, and it was very OLD...It was still interesting though...Next we went to this amazing and grand theatre, named the Teatro Alla Scalla, it has a very interesting history behind the name. We went into the theatre, and the place was very well furnished, and there was boxes for people...It was like in the olden days movies, where audience sat in boxes and they would own the boxes, they could decorate it anyway they wanted it to be... The theatre was really cool, especially the little chandeliers, haha lol.:))) Its a pity we couldn't take pictures in there... ...
We visited many places after that, it was interesting to know that Milan being a fashion city can have many traditions.
We had one hour shopping, and i bought lots of presents for victoria, as it was her birthday, but i bought lots of nice bracelets and stuff, and Milan was freezing cold!!!!
Anyway i have no more to write now...
Love,
Kim Sarah
Hi :)
Day #07
Today, we had a quick breadfast and then we took a coach to Milan, known for it's fashion. When we reach Milan, we took a coach to the castle then to the museum, theatre and church.
In the museum, the place was quite small and stuffy. When we reach the theatre which was in the museum, we were like " WOW"! The place was furnished and grand. The walls have many boxes with enough room to fit a minimum of 5 humans! There were workers putting up props as well as checking if the lightings were in position.
After that, we went to the church, since touring is not allowed in the church, we split into groups and my group chose to pray. After praying, i went over to the other side, the offering of candles to God. I purchased a candle at 0,80 Euro.
When we exited the church, Mr Dan gave us an hour for shopping! The temperature was approximately below 5 degree Celsius and it may drop to below -10 degree celsius tomorrow.

Teatro alla Scala
Our last day in Venice! We went to an opera theatre which was also a museum.
When we entered the theatre, WOW.
It was like a theatre from some old movie. Its interior and every detail..So ancient.
The theatre was great in height and a gi-normous crystal chandelier hung from the centre.
There were many levels and on each were 'boxes'.
The tour-guide said that in the olden times, the rich people used to buy a box and would stay in the theatre all day whether it was to gamble, eat, drink or just to invite some friends over for a chat.
Woah. If some opera lady had to sing there, her voice would need to be projected very far away so as to be audible. (Plus, i don't think there were microphones back then. Poor singers.)
After that we walked around the museum gallery, looking at all the paintings of the famous opera singers etc.
Milan, Milano Hotel
This hotel was the most modern of all the hotels.
(Although it did not have a kettle)
Roomate: WenXin
We fought for the bathroom. Because apparently, she took very long.
WenXin and me
That's it for Maryanne's day07, head for day08!
