sooo.. when we reached singapore, yet again did the necessary stuff.. but before we went out to meet our family, we had a debrief by mr michael and of course saying bye to our dearest mr dan! who could forget that sweet gelato-treating-everyone man :)
He said he'll make facebook and come for our show!:)
And ms mandy was so sweet and cute too. ^^
so after we've got our luggages, we met our dearest family members :)
feeling contented, glad and happy with what we have in singapore when we saw their faces :D

What inspired me during this trip?
There are quite a number of things that inspired me.
Firstly, there are our teachers, who put in so much effort to make this learning journey  successful . What inspired me about thm is that they could do so much just to make our dreams come true.
Next, there is a man called mr dan who is our tour manager. What inspired me about him is that he barely knew us, AES DANCE ENSEMBLE, Yet, when he knew that he was to take our group, he researed about dance and even went to search dance codes to inspire us further. And, he also used all his means to help us everytime there is a problem. And he is always so fun, enthusiastic and helpful.
I am so glad Mr michael has found him to be our tour manager. It certainly made the trip better than it is already. Next, we knew artist like michael Angelo Leonardo da vinci and some others. But what inspired me the most about this two is that they are geniuses. They manage to create such wonderful artworks, paintigs, sculptures and inventions etc. during their lifetime. ART is something that takes skill and patience. So it is dfinitely not easy to continue doing it for so long. There are fresco paintings which is not easy especially when it is on the ceiling . Michael Angelo painted the whole place that when you enter, you would just stare in awe and wonder. What is more, the ceiling is curved, and looking up all the time to paint makes it way more difficult. Also, leonardo Da vinci completed the sculpture of david. What inspired me about him is that the marble of that sculpure is bad marble. And yet Michael Amngelo completed it and did not gave up on it just because it was bad marble. And he just loved marble. What made him more inspiring is that he studied anatomy (the study of body parts). That is why the sculpture of david was so detailed. You could actually see the veins and the muscles so tense, as david was thinking how to throw the stones in his hand at goliath.
The hair of david was also carved out so nicely that you would have almost thought it was impossible to carve it like that.
Another thing that inspired me was the chereographers and instructors who thought us at the dance workshops were very good. Given the little time limit they have to teach us, they did very well and we gain a lot of new knowledge and skills from them. They were fun and friendly and welcoming. Also, one of our danceworkshops, the second one at florence was actually on a holiday. The fact that the dance company is willing to open and teach us that day, really shows a lot.The other thing that inspired me as well was the places we visited like colocceum and the vatican city, the cathedrals, it was all very inspiring. Simply because of all the people who put in so much effort and time to build and decorate the place. I am quite sure they would have never thought what they have built would have inspired people. The places i have mentioned were so big and amazing. The decorations , even though it was ancient and vintage, it was so beautiful, Some of the cathedral's ceilings were decorated with gold, all of them had paintings and some even have paintings about the important events and the old testament as well. You could actually tell what it is by looking at the ceilings.
This trip was certainly inspiring as each day we are all inspired by something new.
All the things that inspired me, made me want to change for the better. I want to inspire people just like how all this things inspired me.
Have i learnt something on this trip that i would not have learnt at home?
Yes i have. I have learnt to spent money wiser. Why? Because when we went to the glass factory, all the things there were extremely expensive but i thought it was quite reasonable for the glass sweets at first. But then later, i realised that it could be bought for a much cheaper price when we went to other shops after that!
I also have learnt to appreciate things more. I learnt to appreciate things more because our first hotel was okay but it was really vintage and a bit creepy. But as we changed hotels, the hotels started to become better and better. As Mr Dan said, if the first hotel is really good and so are the rest, we would'nt learn to appreciate anything at all. I thought about that and found it quite true. If the first one was realy good while the next one is really bad, we would not learn to appreciate and instead feel ungrateful.
I have also learnt to be responsible of my own belongings and also be serious about being on time.
- Be responsible of my own belongings as i almost lost my camcorder one night. It was because during dinner time, a few of our belongings were on a chair, so was my camcorder. When it was time to leave, everyone took their things and my camcorder dropped and so when i took my belongings, i did not take the camcorder. And it was only untill we were back in the hotel that i realised i lost it and left it in the restaurant. So, it was because of me that everyone had to do a detour and i felt really bad. And also not to put your belongings anywhere else but close to your body when you're in public. Because just a few moments later, your belongings might be gone.
- Next, to be serious about being on time because if you are'nt on time, It would make everyone worry and also wait. Europe is such a big place, way bigger than singapore. Anything could happen to you.
Dance is a 'universal language'. Using the second dance workshop in florence, state how this is so.
In the Second dance workshop, the dance instructor and choreographer needed a translator in order for us to understand what he is trying to tell us. Generally, i think that translating is not so important itself but dance as a language is more important. Dance is like a universal language because even though there are different types of genres of dance, everywhere you go, you will still need the basic techniques and abilities.
Even tough we speak different languages, we communicate similarly through dance. I think the performance that they showed us, they were trying to show and comunicate to us about how they can connect with each other. It is like when the dance, they are together. connecting to each other one after another.
By looking at the life and works of micheal Angelo, what do you understand about passion?
Michael Angelo has so much passion for marble that he completed the statue of david. For such bad marble, I do not see why any one would want to complete the statue so willingly if they are not passionate.
To me, passion is something that burns inside of you, urging and making you do what you love.
Even before he died, he was still in the progress of sculpting a sculpture. And he was already 89 years old. That truly shows how passionate he is and how much passion he has for marble sculpting, just like how passionate AES DANCE ESEMBLE has for dance. :)

Reflection
*In this learning journey, what has inspired you?
So far the one thing that inspired me the most was the Duomo . The Duomo was a church that was built for a period of 5 centuries. I'm so inspired by it because it takes a lot of teamwork and generations to build the Duomo.
It was the commitment , the teamwork and the perseverance that inspired me. I am inspired by it that i really want to dance =, it really opened my eyes so that i can dance and show commitment to what i'm doing, to what i'm dancing.

*Something i've learnt about myself that i wouldn't learn at home.
If not for this trip, i wouldn't have learned to be responsible, i wouldn't have been closer to the other seniors, i wouldn't appreciate how fortunate i am now.
I feel that i have become more responsible of myself  and become a better leader for the dancers. To have handled the responsibility of all my things, valuables , needs and wants is a responsibility i'm willing to take to go for this trip, so i guess, i've also learnt to  become braver.
The point is ,i have gained a lot from this trip and i'm happy to have achieved all this.

*Dance is a universal language.
From reference of the 2nd dance workshop in florence, i would say dance is a universal language too. Why? Because all of us is different in many ways , but we have something in common which is the passion for dance. for example , the dance instructor, he was an Italian and he doesn't speak english  so he had a translator for us to follow the class.Even though, he can't speak English, he figured out a way to communicate to us by translating and using dance moves and gestures. Of all of the other dance workshop, this was the best because even though he didn't speak English, he still interacted with us and connected with us.Lastly, it is also how we from Singapore went all the way to Italy to learn all different kinds of dance.

* By looking at the life and works of Michel Angelo, What have i learnt about passion?
From the moment i saw David, i've learnt and discovered inspiration, commitment and of course, passion.
What i've learnt about passion is that he wouldn't have created David if he hadn't had the passion and commitment to do it.
Passion is to have th heart of doing something , and dreaming to achieve it with commitment and perseverance.
For example, Michel Angelo painted the Sixteen Chapell for years because he has the passion to do it. If Michel Angelo didn't have any passion to paint, he wouldn't accept the offer to paint the sixteen chapell.
So basically, Passion is doing something you love and putting your heart in doing it.

Peace , nite, sweetdreams,

HOME SWEET HOME!!!!  I still cant get used to the weather!! I cant wait to go home and sleep zzz and give out my  souvenirs!!! I"LL MISS YOU ITALIA!!!

Were going back to Singapore!

It sad to see the aeroplane taking off from Amsterdam. I'm already missing Italy. The experience, the fun and the great moments we had in Italy would NEVER be erased from my mind.

I'd miss you Antonio( bus driver ) and Mr Dan..

My Reflecions:

A) The artist, Michaelangelo, inspired me to be a passionate and committed person in whatever i do, and not to give up so easily. Michaelangelo did paintings and sculptures which took him years to complete it. During these years, he did not give up half-way. This shows that was very committed and passionate to his work. This inspired me as i want to be like him, passionate and committed in dance as well as everything i do.

B) I learnt that i can be very patient and i can take care of myself. Usually, i would tend to be very impatient with things when they are not going my way or when things don't come to what i expected. Through this trip, i learnt to be independent and patient as my first thought was that i did not wanted to make the trip an unhappy one. I also learnt how to take care of myself and i'm lucky to survive the temperature in the place without my parents and guardian.

C) In the second dance workshop, there are international dancers and instructors, although some of them speak in different languages, like the instructor that taught us, who can only speak Italian, he got a translator with him who is fluent in English. However, all of us have one thing is common, which is we have the passion in dance. "Dance is a universal language"as a person do not have to speak a language we know, through his or her movements and actions when dancing, we can communicate.

D) I understand that passion involves a commitment. Through the life and works of Michelangelo, it is obvious that he is very committed in what he is doing as he is passionate about art.

SINGAPORE!
AHHHhhhh..Nothing like home sweet home.
Some place familiar, filled with loved ones, safe & secure.
Nothing can beat the feeling of being welcomed home...
After we retrieved our luggages and said goodbye,
I went to greet my momi with a hug and I felt really glad. =D
I felt different after returning, like I knew something upon returning that I never noticed before.
How much I learnt to appreciate my country.
Also, after going abroad for days, I acquired new skills and knowledge back here to make use of.
I couldn't wait to tell them my stories...

Day 9
We've come to the end of the trip. We are thankful that we made it back home safely and also this trip wouldn't happen if not for our guardians/parents and teachers. This trip was not only fun but it also has taught us many things. Maybe some should learn about mutual understanding and trust. Because honestly, to whoever. I don't know who you are anymore.
We are teenagers. And we will be teenagers. Play and work hard. Maybe you forgot we do play. We are not in some military s/ Expectations yes. But we rather you hope than expect. C'on we dont have CPF. Okay no link but yeah you get the point. i think well i hope so)
